Sermon Snippet
I am trying to expand and amplify the scripture in 1 peter 3:12:
1 Peter 3:12 shows that God watches over good people and listens to their prayers, but He turns away from those who do evil.

Meaning of the Scripture

  • The Lord's Eyes: God watches people who do right.

  • His Ears: He hears when they pray for help.

  • His Face: He turns away from people who do bad things.

How to Apply It

  • Do good things every day.

  • Talk to God in prayer.

  • Stay away from bad acts.

The Bible says God keeps tears in a bottle in Psalm 56:8 ("You have collected all my tears in your bottle"). And the Bible describes prayers in a bowl (or golden vials/bowls of incense) representing the prayers of God's people in Revelation 5:8

Key Differences in Scripture

  • Tears in a Bottle: Psalm 56:8 is a psalm by David. It shows that God notices, values, and remembers every sorrow and tear of His people.

  • Prayers in a Bowl: Revelation 5:8 describes heavenly elders holding golden bowls filled with incense, which are explained as the prayers of the saints.

  • People often combine these two poetic ideas to mean that God never forgets our tears or our prayers.
