Like minded people
That is the happiest conversation where there is no competition, no vanity, but a calm, quiet interchange of sentiments.
Samuel Johnson
How good it feels to be with like minded believers.
Whether in at church, at a coffee shop gathering or on the telephone, the talk is a quiet sharing, unlike the conversations we know on the "outside." We discuss endlessly what the blessings of God are like and what being born again and filled with the Holy Spirit is doing for us. If we participate long enough we hear our story, or at the very least, find someone with whom we can strongly identify. Even the most competitive people eventually find that there is no need to impress anyone, to prove that they are better than anyone else.
The principles of Galatians 2:20 apply:
“I have been crucified with Christ [that is, in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body I live by faith [by adhering to, relying on, and completely trusting] in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. 21 I do not ignore or nullify the [gracious gift of the] grace of God [His amazing, unmerited favor], for if righteousness comes through [observing] the Law, then Christ died needlessly. [His suffering and death would have had no purpose whatsoever.]” Members of the Body of Christ are a precious gift, available to me at any time I want them.
