We are Being Transformed

00:00:00 --> 00:00:08 Well, what we've been seeing in Ephesians over the past number of weeks is who the church is
00:00:08 --> 00:00:10 ! From God's perspective, not from ours.
00:00:11 --> 00:00:20 What we've seen is the church is central to God's plan for history, to unite all things under Jesus Christ.
00:00:20 --> 00:00:24 It's a plan that he achieves through the death and resurrection of Jesus.
00:00:25 --> 00:00:34 It's a plan that's, in fact, being worked out right now through time and space, through his church,
00:00:34 --> 00:00:40 as both Jews and Gentiles, people from every tribe, language and nations, are united together under the Lord Jesus.
00:00:40 --> 00:00:44 That's really the summary of the first three chapters.
00:00:45 --> 00:00:59 What we're starting to see now is that Christianity isn't about giving ourselves a little boost to live a better life,
00:01:00 --> 00:01:03 a better version of the life that we're currently living.
00:01:04 --> 00:01:09 What we're seeing is that Christianity is nothing less than being a Christian,
00:01:09 --> 00:01:17 is nothing less than a sweeping revolution that changes every aspect of life.
00:01:17 --> 00:01:26 And this is what Paul is addressing in the opening verse in our section today,
00:01:26 --> 00:01:29 which is what he's already been doing since the beginning of chapter 4,
00:01:29 --> 00:01:30 where he says,
00:01:30 --> 00:01:45 What our topic today is, Paul's calling us here, is to be transformed.
00:01:45 --> 00:01:49 That is, to be who we already are.
00:01:49 --> 00:01:55 So, four points, which is going to be our progression today.
00:01:56 --> 00:01:57 First of all, already transformed.
00:01:57 --> 00:02:06 Now, the key to this whole section, and I'm really covering right through to chapter 5, verse 21,
00:02:06 --> 00:02:20 the key to the section is verses 22 and 24, putting off the old self and putting on the new self.
00:02:21 --> 00:02:27 Now, I need to get a little bit technical here for a moment, so just bear with me,
00:02:27 --> 00:02:30 because it's really, really important.
00:02:30 --> 00:02:39 I'm going to talk linguistics and language, and particularly in the original language of the New Testament,
00:02:39 --> 00:02:48 the Greek language, both verse 22 and 24 is in what is called the aorist tense.
00:02:48 --> 00:02:52 The verb there, to put on to put off, is in the aorist tense.
00:02:53 --> 00:02:59 Now, the aorist tense is not something the English language, or virtually any other language, understands.
00:02:59 --> 00:03:04 It doesn't, the aorist tense doesn't exist for English language.
00:03:05 --> 00:03:09 But what it means, what the aorist tense means for Greek language,
00:03:10 --> 00:03:19 is it's a single action that's happened in the past, that's finalised,
00:03:20 --> 00:03:24 but has ongoing implications for my very present.
00:03:25 --> 00:03:27 That's what the aorist tense means.
00:03:29 --> 00:03:34 And what that means is, when you look at verse 22 and verse 24, putting on and putting off,
00:03:35 --> 00:03:42 the Ephesians have already put off and have already put on.
00:03:42 --> 00:03:43 That's what it means.
00:03:44 --> 00:03:45 It's already happened.
00:03:45 --> 00:03:55 And what it means is, in the past, there's been a conscious, decisive decision that they've made.
00:03:56 --> 00:04:04 And it's been a decision to turn away from the old life, to take off the old life, like an old piece of garment,
00:04:05 --> 00:04:07 and to put on a new self.
00:04:07 --> 00:04:13 And what they've turned away from is described in verses 17 to 19.
00:04:13 --> 00:04:18 You must no longer live, as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking.
00:04:18 --> 00:04:21 They are darkening their understanding and separated from the life of God,
00:04:21 --> 00:04:25 because of the ignorance that is in them, due to the hardening of their hearts,
00:04:25 --> 00:04:26 having lost all sensitivity.
00:04:27 --> 00:04:32 They have given themselves over to sensuality, so as to indulge in every kind of impurity.
00:04:33 --> 00:04:34 And they are full of greed.
00:04:34 --> 00:04:43 Now, what we have here in these verses is Paul's psychology of unbelief, of life without God.
00:04:45 --> 00:04:55 This is how our minds and our hearts work when they are separated from what Paul says here is the life in God,
00:04:55 --> 00:04:56 the life of God.
00:04:57 --> 00:05:01 It's a life that is marked by futility and vanity.
00:05:01 --> 00:05:10 It's a sense, if you like, of doing life, of an awful lot of work, doing an awful lot of things,
00:05:11 --> 00:05:13 and not actually getting anywhere.
00:05:14 --> 00:05:19 Of all of those things, still having a sense of hollowness to it all,
00:05:20 --> 00:05:21 not accomplishing anything.
00:05:22 --> 00:05:25 And this futility leads to verse 19.
00:05:25 --> 00:05:31 Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality,
00:05:31 --> 00:05:37 so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, and they are full of greed.
00:05:37 --> 00:05:46 This futility in life means that eventually we give ourselves over to things.
00:05:46 --> 00:05:54 Now, they are things like pleasures and activities and indulgences in life.
00:05:54 --> 00:05:59 They are things that, on the surface, might appear to be harmful and good for us,
00:05:59 --> 00:06:08 but all of those things are designed to soothe this sense of futility and vanity in life.
00:06:08 --> 00:06:16 They are things, you know, you might say things like, well, you know, life might be futile,
00:06:17 --> 00:06:22 but maybe it'd be better if I could run a marathon under three hours.
00:06:23 --> 00:06:29 And so that becomes the driving force of my life, or if I'm financially secure in retirement,
00:06:29 --> 00:06:33 or I've got more than 2 friends on Facebook, or I get an ATAR over 98,
00:06:33 --> 00:06:38 or my kids are happy, or I've got a career that I'm validated in,
00:06:38 --> 00:06:43 or that I've got the ability to have holidays wherever and whenever I want.
00:06:45 --> 00:06:50 And what it says here, all of those things become the markers for who we are,
00:06:51 --> 00:06:58 and it's designed to soothe this sense that my life is futile and a vanity.
00:06:58 --> 00:07:04 And then eventually it says we give ourselves to them.
00:07:05 --> 00:07:08 That is, we give ourselves over to them.
00:07:08 --> 00:07:13 In other words, that they become the controlling things in our life.
00:07:13 --> 00:07:14 They become the advantages of our life.
00:07:15 --> 00:07:17 And we need it more and more and more.
00:07:18 --> 00:07:20 I've achieved three hours marathon.
00:07:20 --> 00:07:22 Maybe two and a half would be better now.
00:07:22 --> 00:07:29 And it's a sense of I'm now controlled by the futility of life.
00:07:36 --> 00:07:43 And that goes on, and I get busier and busier and busier
00:07:43 --> 00:07:52 to try and hide the loud noise of futility that sits in my soul.
00:07:52 --> 00:08:01 Until something forces me to stop and be confronted with the vanity of my life.
00:08:02 --> 00:08:06 And that's what happened to the Ephesians in verses 20 and 22.
00:08:07 --> 00:08:11 That, however, is not the way of life you learned when you heard about Christ
00:08:11 --> 00:08:15 and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus.
00:08:15 --> 00:08:20 You were taught with regard to your former way of life to put off your old self,
00:08:20 --> 00:08:24 which has been corrupted by its deceitful desires.
00:08:24 --> 00:08:33 Now, again, there are three, another three verbs in there that are also in the aorist tense.
00:08:33 --> 00:08:42 Decisive action in the past that's finished that is consequences for my present right now.
00:08:42 --> 00:08:53 And what Paul's saying there is they lived in the futility of their life until a radical decision happened
00:08:53 --> 00:08:55 and a radical change happened in their life.
00:08:57 --> 00:08:59 In Christian circles, we call it conversion.
00:08:59 --> 00:09:02 God calls it recreation.
00:09:02 --> 00:09:04 He calls it new birth.
00:09:04 --> 00:09:06 That's what Paul's referring to here.
00:09:06 --> 00:09:14 It revolves the rejection of our former self, a life without God,
00:09:15 --> 00:09:20 and the starting of an entire new life under and in God and under the lordship of Jesus.
00:09:21 --> 00:09:23 And verse 20, the three verbs are,
00:09:23 --> 00:09:31 you learned Christ, you heard Christ, and you were taught the truth that is in Christ.
00:09:31 --> 00:09:37 What happened to them in the past is that they heard about Christ.
00:09:39 --> 00:09:42 And then they heard the voice of Christ.
00:09:43 --> 00:09:47 And in so doing, they discovered the truth that is Jesus.
00:09:50 --> 00:09:54 And they turned from the old life to the new life.
00:09:55 --> 00:10:00 They discovered the truth of who he is and what he has done for them.
00:10:00 --> 00:10:09 And so what Paul's doing here in this first section is he's reminding the Ephesians here of their conversion,
00:10:09 --> 00:10:16 of the moment that they took off their old self and they put on their new self,
00:10:18 --> 00:10:22 when the truth of Jesus broke into their lives.
00:10:22 --> 00:10:25 And he says,
00:10:25 --> 00:10:27 you're already transformed.
00:10:30 --> 00:10:34 But notice that in verses 25 and onwards,
00:10:35 --> 00:10:38 and if you read to the end of chapter 5,
00:10:38 --> 00:10:39 and in fact,
00:10:39 --> 00:10:41 keep going really into chapter 6,
00:10:42 --> 00:10:46 there are various moral actions and behaviours
00:10:46 --> 00:10:49 that Paul is calling the Ephesian church,
00:10:49 --> 00:10:50 in fact,
00:10:50 --> 00:10:53 some to put off and equally others to put on.
00:10:55 --> 00:10:57 He's still calling them to put off and put on.
00:10:57 --> 00:10:58 But crucially,
00:11:00 --> 00:11:04 we need to understand that before you get to verse 25,
00:11:06 --> 00:11:08 verses 17 and 20 to 24 are there.
00:11:09 --> 00:11:11 They come first.
00:11:11 --> 00:11:18 Verses 22 and 24 talk about putting off the old self and putting on the new self,
00:11:18 --> 00:11:25 not about putting off old behaviours and putting on new behaviours.
00:11:26 --> 00:11:28 It's talking about the self,
00:11:30 --> 00:11:31 the person.
00:11:31 --> 00:11:34 Christianity,
00:11:36 --> 00:11:37 this is essential
00:11:37 --> 00:11:41 because way too many people get this wrong
00:11:41 --> 00:11:44 in the church and outside the church.
00:11:46 --> 00:11:50 Christianity is about being someone
00:11:50 --> 00:11:53 before it's doing something.
00:11:56 --> 00:11:57 First and foremost,
00:11:57 --> 00:12:01 it's about becoming a whole new self.
00:12:02 --> 00:12:05 It is a comprehensive revolution
00:12:05 --> 00:12:08 that changes who you are
00:12:08 --> 00:12:15 before it revolutionarily changes what you do and how you live.
00:12:17 --> 00:12:19 That's possibly the biggest
00:12:19 --> 00:12:23 and most common mistake people make about Christianity.
00:12:23 --> 00:12:26 morality
00:12:26 --> 00:12:31 is not Christianity.
00:12:35 --> 00:12:37 Even biblical morality
00:12:37 --> 00:12:41 is not Christianity.
00:12:46 --> 00:12:49 Christianity is not about becoming more moral.
00:12:49 --> 00:12:56 This is how most people look at it.
00:12:56 --> 00:12:57 And to be honest with you,
00:12:58 --> 00:12:58 I've,
00:12:59 --> 00:13:01 over more than three decades,
00:13:01 --> 00:13:02 I've had this conversation
00:13:02 --> 00:13:04 so many times with people
00:13:04 --> 00:13:05 and I'm confident
00:13:05 --> 00:13:08 that in my old life,
00:13:08 --> 00:13:10 I asked exactly the same questions.
00:13:11 --> 00:13:12 It goes something like this.
00:13:12 --> 00:13:14 Look, I'm interested in becoming a Christian,
00:13:14 --> 00:13:15 but I'm just wondering,
00:13:15 --> 00:13:16 if I do become a Christian,
00:13:16 --> 00:13:19 do I need to stop having sex
00:13:19 --> 00:13:20 with my married co-worker?
00:13:21 --> 00:13:22 Like, will I need to do that?
00:13:23 --> 00:13:24 I'm just weighing up here,
00:13:25 --> 00:13:25 you know,
00:13:26 --> 00:13:28 will I have to give money away?
00:13:28 --> 00:13:29 Do I need to do that?
00:13:29 --> 00:13:32 Do I need to come to church at all?
00:13:33 --> 00:13:34 Do I have to forgive my parents
00:13:34 --> 00:13:36 for not giving me the Porsche
00:13:36 --> 00:13:37 on my 18th birthday?
00:13:37 --> 00:13:39 Because I haven't spoken to them for 10 years.
00:13:40 --> 00:13:41 Like, do I need to do that?
00:13:41 --> 00:13:41
00:13:41 --> 00:13:42 Now,
00:13:45 --> 00:13:47 the answer is,
00:13:49 --> 00:13:49 well,
00:13:50 --> 00:13:51 yes,
00:13:52 --> 00:13:53 ultimately,
00:13:53 --> 00:13:54 in fact,
00:13:54 --> 00:13:56 you'll see all of those behaviours
00:13:56 --> 00:13:57 mentioned,
00:13:58 --> 00:13:59 not in the details I just gave,
00:13:59 --> 00:14:01 but you'll see them there
00:14:01 --> 00:14:02 eventually,
00:14:02 --> 00:14:04 but let me just say,
00:14:04 --> 00:14:06 you've asked me the wrong questions
00:14:06 --> 00:14:09 and you've got in Christianity
00:14:09 --> 00:14:11 entirely wrong.
00:14:11 --> 00:14:13 Entirely wrong.
00:14:14 --> 00:14:15 Becoming a Christian
00:14:15 --> 00:14:19 is about becoming a new person
00:14:19 --> 00:14:21 before you live
00:14:21 --> 00:14:22 with a new set of behaviours
00:14:22 --> 00:14:23 and attitudes.
00:14:24 --> 00:14:25 You haven't understood
00:14:25 --> 00:14:27 what Christianity actually is
00:14:27 --> 00:14:29 in asking those questions.
00:14:31 --> 00:14:33 That's the first point.
00:14:34 --> 00:14:35 Already transformed.
00:14:35 --> 00:14:36 Secondly,
00:14:37 --> 00:14:39 verse 25 says,
00:14:39 --> 00:14:41 it starts with,
00:14:41 --> 00:14:41 therefore.
00:14:42 --> 00:14:43 And so what follows
00:14:43 --> 00:14:45 is the implications
00:14:45 --> 00:14:46 of the very fact
00:14:46 --> 00:14:47 that they have already
00:14:47 --> 00:14:48 taken off
00:14:48 --> 00:14:49 and have put on.
00:14:50 --> 00:14:51 Therefore,
00:14:51 --> 00:14:53 because you have made
00:14:53 --> 00:14:53 the decision
00:14:53 --> 00:14:55 to throw off
00:14:55 --> 00:14:56 your old self
00:14:56 --> 00:14:58 once and for all,
00:14:59 --> 00:15:00 you must now
00:15:00 --> 00:15:02 put on
00:15:02 --> 00:15:04 all conduct.
00:15:04 --> 00:15:06 so you must continue
00:15:06 --> 00:15:07 to put off
00:15:07 --> 00:15:07 all conduct
00:15:07 --> 00:15:08 that belongs
00:15:08 --> 00:15:09 to the old self.
00:15:10 --> 00:15:10 Throw it away.
00:15:14 --> 00:15:15 And the point here
00:15:15 --> 00:15:16 as we move on
00:15:16 --> 00:15:18 is this new self
00:15:18 --> 00:15:20 that we have taken on,
00:15:21 --> 00:15:22 all of its behaviours
00:15:22 --> 00:15:23 and attitudes,
00:15:23 --> 00:15:24 you do not
00:15:24 --> 00:15:25 naturally
00:15:25 --> 00:15:26 drift
00:15:26 --> 00:15:27 into it.
00:15:27 --> 00:15:30 doesn't just happen.
00:15:33 --> 00:15:34 We must actively
00:15:34 --> 00:15:35 put it on.
00:15:36 --> 00:15:37 Chapter 4,
00:15:37 --> 00:15:38 verse 1,
00:15:38 --> 00:15:39 which Ash
00:15:39 --> 00:15:40 took us to last week,
00:15:40 --> 00:15:41 calls us,
00:15:41 --> 00:15:42 the Christian,
00:15:42 --> 00:15:43 to live worthy
00:15:43 --> 00:15:44 of the kingdom
00:15:44 --> 00:15:45 that we've been
00:15:45 --> 00:15:46 called into.
00:15:47 --> 00:15:48 Verse 17 says,
00:15:48 --> 00:15:48 stop living
00:15:48 --> 00:15:49 the old life.
00:15:49 --> 00:15:50 Chapter 5,
00:15:50 --> 00:15:51 verse 3
00:15:51 --> 00:15:52 refers to the old life
00:15:52 --> 00:15:53 being in brother
00:15:53 --> 00:15:55 for God's people.
00:15:56 --> 00:15:56 Instead,
00:15:56 --> 00:15:57 he calls us
00:15:57 --> 00:16:00 in chapter 5,
00:16:00 --> 00:16:00 verse 1 and 2,
00:16:01 --> 00:16:02 follow God's example
00:16:02 --> 00:16:02 therefore
00:16:02 --> 00:16:04 as dearly loved children
00:16:04 --> 00:16:06 and walk
00:16:06 --> 00:16:07 in the way
00:16:07 --> 00:16:07 of love
00:16:07 --> 00:16:10 just as Christ
00:16:10 --> 00:16:11 loved us
00:16:11 --> 00:16:12 and gave himself
00:16:12 --> 00:16:12 up for us
00:16:12 --> 00:16:13 as a fragrant
00:16:13 --> 00:16:14 offering and sacrifice
00:16:14 --> 00:16:15 to God.
00:16:17 --> 00:16:18 Ephesians 2,
00:16:18 --> 00:16:19 which I was,
00:16:19 --> 00:16:20 took us there
00:16:20 --> 00:16:21 a number of weeks
00:16:21 --> 00:16:21 ago now,
00:16:22 --> 00:16:22 says that
00:16:22 --> 00:16:24 the very essence
00:16:24 --> 00:16:26 of the old life
00:16:26 --> 00:16:26 of sin
00:16:26 --> 00:16:28 is a life
00:16:28 --> 00:16:31 which is centered
00:16:31 --> 00:16:34 entirely on me.
00:16:35 --> 00:16:37 It's a life
00:16:37 --> 00:16:39 where everything
00:16:39 --> 00:16:41 exists for my glory,
00:16:41 --> 00:16:42 where my heart
00:16:42 --> 00:16:42 is curved
00:16:42 --> 00:16:43 towards myself.
00:16:43 --> 00:16:45 It's a life
00:16:45 --> 00:16:46 fundamentally
00:16:46 --> 00:16:49 that is selfish,
00:16:49 --> 00:16:50 no matter how
00:16:50 --> 00:16:53 we cover it up
00:16:53 --> 00:16:56 and make it look good.
00:16:57 --> 00:16:58 That's the old self
00:16:58 --> 00:17:00 and what we see here,
00:17:01 --> 00:17:02 the new self
00:17:02 --> 00:17:05 and all its behaviors
00:17:05 --> 00:17:06 and attitudes
00:17:06 --> 00:17:08 is the exact opposite.
00:17:08 --> 00:17:12 it's a life
00:17:12 --> 00:17:13 as chapter 5
00:17:13 --> 00:17:14 tells us there,
00:17:14 --> 00:17:15 a life of love.
00:17:17 --> 00:17:17 It's a life
00:17:17 --> 00:17:18 of personal
00:17:18 --> 00:17:20 sacrifice,
00:17:21 --> 00:17:21 of giving
00:17:21 --> 00:17:23 and serving
00:17:23 --> 00:17:24 and forgiving.
00:17:26 --> 00:17:27 In fact,
00:17:27 --> 00:17:28 everything
00:17:28 --> 00:17:29 that's listed here
00:17:29 --> 00:17:30 is about
00:17:30 --> 00:17:32 building
00:17:32 --> 00:17:33 relationships,
00:17:35 --> 00:17:35 loving
00:17:35 --> 00:17:36 others.
00:17:40 --> 00:17:41 Third point,
00:17:41 --> 00:17:41 how do we do that
00:17:41 --> 00:17:42 then?
00:17:42 --> 00:17:43 How to be transformed,
00:17:43 --> 00:17:43 how to continue
00:17:43 --> 00:17:44 to be transformed.
00:17:44 --> 00:17:45 I want to spend
00:17:45 --> 00:17:46 a bit of time
00:17:46 --> 00:17:46 on this one
00:17:46 --> 00:17:48 because,
00:17:48 --> 00:17:49 frankly,
00:17:49 --> 00:17:50 we all want
00:17:50 --> 00:17:51 to change
00:17:51 --> 00:17:53 and
00:17:53 --> 00:17:56 it's one of the
00:17:56 --> 00:17:57 preoccupations,
00:17:57 --> 00:17:57 in fact,
00:17:57 --> 00:17:58 of our
00:17:58 --> 00:17:59 society
00:17:59 --> 00:18:00 and yet
00:18:00 --> 00:18:01 we always
00:18:01 --> 00:18:01 struggle
00:18:01 --> 00:18:02 to change.
00:18:04 --> 00:18:05 It's one of the
00:18:05 --> 00:18:05 things we kick
00:18:05 --> 00:18:06 ourselves for,
00:18:07 --> 00:18:07 how quickly
00:18:07 --> 00:18:08 we have
00:18:08 --> 00:18:09 New Year's Eve
00:18:09 --> 00:18:09 resolutions
00:18:09 --> 00:18:11 and
00:18:11 --> 00:18:12 90-something
00:18:12 --> 00:18:13 percent
00:18:13 --> 00:18:14 fail
00:18:14 --> 00:18:14 before the
00:18:14 --> 00:18:15 end of January.
00:18:16 --> 00:18:16 Struggle
00:18:16 --> 00:18:17 to change.
00:18:18 --> 00:18:19 So,
00:18:19 --> 00:18:19 the first thing
00:18:19 --> 00:18:20 we need to do,
00:18:20 --> 00:18:21 there's three points
00:18:21 --> 00:18:21 here,
00:18:21 --> 00:18:22 and the first thing
00:18:22 --> 00:18:22 is we need
00:18:22 --> 00:18:23 a new motive,
00:18:23 --> 00:18:24 a different motive
00:18:24 --> 00:18:25 to change.
00:18:25 --> 00:18:28 that is what
00:18:28 --> 00:18:28 it's saying
00:18:28 --> 00:18:29 is that
00:18:29 --> 00:18:30 the reason
00:18:30 --> 00:18:32 why we
00:18:32 --> 00:18:33 do things
00:18:33 --> 00:18:34 is critical.
00:18:35 --> 00:18:36 It matters
00:18:36 --> 00:18:37 critically.
00:18:38 --> 00:18:39 Why we do
00:18:39 --> 00:18:40 the things
00:18:40 --> 00:18:41 we do
00:18:41 --> 00:18:42 absolutely
00:18:42 --> 00:18:42 matters.
00:18:44 --> 00:18:44 It matters
00:18:44 --> 00:18:45 so much
00:18:45 --> 00:18:47 because it's
00:18:47 --> 00:18:47 in fact
00:18:47 --> 00:18:48 possible
00:18:48 --> 00:18:49 to do
00:18:49 --> 00:18:51 the entirely
00:18:51 --> 00:18:52 right things
00:18:52 --> 00:18:52 to do,
00:18:53 --> 00:18:53 to even
00:18:53 --> 00:18:54 live with
00:18:54 --> 00:18:55 Christian morality
00:18:55 --> 00:18:57 and to
00:18:57 --> 00:18:58 do it
00:18:58 --> 00:18:58 for the
00:18:58 --> 00:18:58 wrong
00:18:58 --> 00:18:59 reasons.
00:19:01 --> 00:19:01 For
00:19:01 --> 00:19:01 instance,
00:19:02 --> 00:19:03 let's
00:19:03 --> 00:19:04 take
00:19:04 --> 00:19:04 raising
00:19:04 --> 00:19:05 children.
00:19:07 --> 00:19:08 And you
00:19:08 --> 00:19:08 want to
00:19:08 --> 00:19:09 raise your
00:19:09 --> 00:19:10 child to
00:19:10 --> 00:19:10 be truthful.
00:19:11 --> 00:19:12 The main
00:19:12 --> 00:19:13 ways that
00:19:13 --> 00:19:14 we raise

00:27:12 --> 00:27:14 framework of
00:27:14 --> 00:27:16 life in
00:27:16 --> 00:27:17 determining what
00:27:17 --> 00:27:18 is right and
00:27:18 --> 00:27:19 what is wrong,
00:27:19 --> 00:27:20 what is good and
00:27:20 --> 00:27:21 what is bad for
00:27:21 --> 00:27:22 my life.
00:27:22 --> 00:27:23 And we will
00:27:23 --> 00:27:24 live into
00:27:24 --> 00:27:24 that.
