Read Revelation 12:1-13:18.
Revelation 12–13 introduces some of the most dramatic figures in Biblical prophecy—a woman clothed with the sun, the dragon, and the beast. In today’s episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef helps unpack these symbols and the cosmic conflict they reveal.
Prophetic Scripture often places past, present, and future alongside one another. Satan has already been defeated in his attempt to stop Christ’s saving work through the cross and resurrection. Today, he turns his hostility toward God’s people. Yet Scripture also looks ahead to his final and complete defeat.
Revelation 13 then introduces the beast, commonly identified as the Antichrist—Satan’s counterfeit savior and the antithesis of Jesus Christ. Empowered by the dragon, he will deceive, blaspheme God, perform counterfeit signs, and wage war against believers. Yet even in persecution, God calls His people to endurance and faithfulness, secure in the knowledge that they belong to Him.
Dr. Youssef also reminds us that Scripture warned of the spirit of antichrist long before the final Antichrist appears. Any teaching that denies the unique identity and saving work of Jesus stands opposed to the Gospel. The world may embrace counterfeits, but the Truth remains unchanged: Jesus Christ alone can redeem sinners from death and give eternal life.
Prayer: Lord, thank You that though the spirit of the antichrist is at work, Christ has the victory. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
“Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to wage war against the rest of her offspring—those who keep God’s commands and hold fast their testimony about Jesus” (Revelation 12:17).
