In the middle of a heated confrontation with religious hypocrites, Jesus turned to His disciples with a serious warning: Be on your guard. In today’s episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef explores Jesus’ teaching in Luke 12 and the danger of outward religion without inward faithfulness.
Jesus points His followers back to the triune God. First, honor the Father, who sees every hidden motive and will judge with perfect justice. What hypocrisy conceals today will one day be brought into the light.
Second, honor the Son. Jesus declares that those who openly acknowledge Him will be acknowledged before the angels of God. True faith does not hide or compromise Christ’s identity—it confesses Him as Lord and Savior.
Finally, honor the Holy Spirit. The Spirit testifies to the Truth about Jesus and reveals that salvation is found in Him alone. To continually reject that testimony is to reject the very witness God has given concerning His Son.
Standing firmly on Biblical Truth may bring opposition, but Jesus has already given His people courage: “Take heart! I have overcome the world.” This episode calls believers to reject hypocrisy, refuse compromise, and live openly and faithfully before the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
