Walk the Walk: July 28, 2024

Consistency in our faith is not the same as perfection, nor does it mean we are always right. Rather, consistency means we prioritize our families when it comes to our time and our schedules. In today’s devotional, Dr. Michael Youssef emphasizes the power of consistency in parenting and what that means.

[00:00:00] You are listening to My Devotional, the Daily Devotional from Dr. Michael Youssef and Leading

[00:00:06] The Way.

[00:00:08] Walk the Walk by Dr. Michael Youssef.

[00:00:13] As a godly parent, you want consistency in your family's walk of faith.

[00:00:18] Job valued spending time with his family, communicating with them, speaking to them,

[00:00:23] and listening closely as they voiced their concerns, needs and opinions.

[00:00:28] Being consistent in our faith is not the same as perfection, nor does it mean we are always right.

[00:00:34] Rather consistency means we prioritize our families when it comes to our time and our schedules.

[00:00:41] Consistency also means walking the walk and not just talking the talk of your faith.

[00:00:46] It means going with your children to church every Sunday, including attendance at Sunday school.

[00:00:52] It means praying with your family daily, memorizing scripture together,

[00:00:56] and talking about the things of the Lord and the principles of the Bible in a natural, ongoing way.

[00:01:03] Use every moment of your relationship with your children to establish the

[00:01:07] reality of both God's love and your love in their lives. Keep His love and the Bible's

[00:01:13] teachings at the heart of your discussions with your children about what they see on television,

[00:01:18] learn in school or hear from other children. Make God your number one resource to consult

[00:01:24] whenever they face problems, are sick or have specific needs.

[00:01:30] In this daily walking and talking dawn to dusk, we train our children to have Christ's attitude

[00:01:36] and express His love toward others. It's a daily challenge to teach our children compassion

[00:01:42] and lead them into a consistent pattern of Godly living. Let's pray together.

[00:01:48] Lord, we know that when the focus of our lives is set on You, then our family's focus

[00:01:54] will be the same. Help us to seek Your face by Your Spirit. We pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
