[00:00:08] The Dynamite of God by Dr. Michael Youssef
[00:00:13] Are you living up to the purpose God chose you to fulfill?
[00:00:17] Are you living up to His calling on your life?
[00:00:21] The gospel is communicated in words, but it is so much more than just words.
[00:00:26] The good news of Jesus Christ is power.
[00:00:29] It is dynamite.
[00:00:31] And I don't mean that in a flippant way.
[00:00:34] In Romans 1.16 Paul says that the gospel is the power of God that brings salvation to
[00:00:41] everyone who believes.
[00:00:43] That word power is dynamis in the original Greek, the word from which we get our English
[00:00:49] word dynamite.
[00:00:51] So it's not stretching the meaning of God's word to say that the gospel is the dynamite
[00:00:57] of God.
[00:00:58] It blasts through our sin and rebellion, our brokenness and fallenness, our objections
[00:01:05] and rejection.
[00:01:07] And it powerfully draws us to Him.
[00:01:11] Why does God need to dynamite people with the gospel?
[00:01:14] Because blind eyes will not be opened by mere words.
[00:01:18] Heart hearts will not be softened by mere words.
[00:01:21] Stubborn wills will not be broken by mere words.
[00:01:26] That's why the Holy Spirit must dynamite our souls and spirits and consciences with
[00:01:32] the dynamic power of the gospel.
[00:01:36] I could speak the most eloquent words.
[00:01:39] I could offer the most compelling arguments.
[00:01:42] I could communicate with unparalleled passion and intensity.
[00:01:47] But until the Holy Spirit of God takes those words and infuses them with power, they will
[00:01:52] never open deaf ears or blind eyes.
[00:01:57] That's why our witnessing and our ministry to the world must be bathed in prayer.
[00:02:03] We dare not do or say anything without calling upon God's dynamite power.
[00:02:11] Let's pray together.
[00:02:12] I praise you, God, for your dynamite power to save the lost, to save me.
[00:02:18] Help us to remember your tremendous power to open the eyes of the spiritually blind when
[00:02:23] we intercede for others so that we do not give up praying for them.
[00:02:28] We pray this in the name of Jesus.
