[00:00:21] Counselors provide guidance, support and encouragement.
[00:00:24] Yet, no matter how helpful, well-trained or well-intentioned human counselors are, none
[00:00:30] can compare to our wonderful Counselor, Jesus Christ.
[00:00:34] Several hundred years before the birth of Christ, the prophet Isaiah described him as Wonderful
[00:00:40] Counselor in Isaiah 9-6.
[00:00:43] Jesus is the wisest counselor we will ever know, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom
[00:00:50] and knowledge.
[00:00:51] He does not simply possess some wisdom, but all the treasures of wisdom.
[00:00:58] His expertise is unrivaled in providing guidance for our lives.
[00:01:02] Christ's wisdom is not marred by human logic or reasoning.
[00:01:06] He does not see things from faulty perspectives.
[00:01:10] He is truth.
[00:01:11] He knows all things.
[00:01:13] The wisdom that comes from heaven is, first of all, pure, then peace-loving, considerate,
[00:01:19] submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.
[00:01:25] Jesus' counsel is not tainted with worldly thoughts or self-serving motives.
[00:01:30] His counsel is not contaminated by bias or manipulation.
[00:01:34] The counsel of Christ is pure.
[00:01:38] No matter whose godly advice we seek on earth, we should always seek the counsel of Christ first.
[00:01:44] He possesses wisdom and knowledge that no human counselor or teacher has.
[00:01:49] He wants to be the one we immediately seek out when we stumble.
[00:01:53] He wants to hear about our heartaches and pains.
[00:01:55] He is the best listener we will ever know.
[00:01:59] When we place our burdens before Christ, he will fill our troubled hearts with peace.
[00:02:05] Let's pray together.
[00:02:07] Wonderful Counselor, thank you that we can come to you and know that you give wisdom and guidance
[00:02:12] that no one else can offer.
[00:02:15] Help us to remember to come to you first.
[00:02:18] We pray this in the name of Jesus.
