[00:00:00] You are listening to My Devotional, the Daily Devotional from Dr. Michael Youssef and Leading
[00:00:06] The Way.
[00:00:08] Teach Your Children Well by Dr. Michael Youssef.
[00:00:13] Training children to love and serve the Lord, to be compassionate toward others and to have
[00:00:17] consistent walks of faith is the most noble and important work any parent can do.
[00:00:23] Therefore, we should find great joy that the Lord has called us and entrusted us to be parents.
[00:00:30] Never lose sight of the fact that you are training your child not only to take a role in God's
[00:00:35] kingdom on this earth, but also to assume a place and an inheritance in heaven.
[00:00:41] Many parents wonder what the most important lesson is that they can teach their children?
[00:00:46] The answer is simple.
[00:00:47] Nothing can take the place of teaching your child about God's forgiveness and love.
[00:00:53] Telling him or her about Jesus Christ's saving grace is the most important thing you will
[00:00:58] ever do.
[00:00:59] Too often, mothers and fathers become weary and say, I am raising children, or I am
[00:01:05] supporting a family.
[00:01:07] However, we need to view our parental role as a privilege.
[00:01:11] We are training heirs to the kingdom of God, children who will make a difference
[00:01:15] in this world for God, children who will love others in Christ and lead them to salvation,
[00:01:21] children who will live together with you in eternity, children who will know the fullness
[00:01:26] of God's blessings, guidance and favor.
[00:01:30] As you pursue the challenge of being a godly parent, you can be assured that God is
[00:01:35] on your team.
[00:01:36] He will provide the wisdom you need for every situation.
[00:01:40] He also will protect you and bless you as you walk in His ways and bring glory to His
[00:01:45] name.
[00:01:46] Let's pray together.
[00:01:47] Lord, we realize that we have a tremendous task as parents, and we know we cannot do it
[00:01:52] on our own.
[00:01:53] We need Your wisdom to guide us each day.
[00:01:57] We pray this in the name of Jesus.
[00:01:59] Amen.
[00:02:01] Do you know where to turn in brokenness?
[00:02:03] Have you exchanged self-reliance for absolute trust in the living God?
[00:02:09] In a heart for God, lessons from the life of David.
[00:02:13] Dr. Michael Yusef takes you on a journey through the highs and the lows of David's life.
[00:02:19] As you explore his greatest victories and deepest failures in 1st and 2nd Samuel, you'll
[00:02:25] see God's faithfulness to use willing vessels for His glory.
