[00:00:08] Selfless Unity by Dr. Michael Youssef
[00:00:13] What would our marriages, homes and churches look like if we all practiced selfless, fully
[00:00:19] surrendered obedience to God in our daily lives?
[00:00:23] What if we completely aligned our will to our Father's will?
[00:00:28] In Pentecost, the Holy Spirit empowered the early church to boldly proclaim the gospel
[00:00:33] and perform awesome signs and wonders that testified to the truth of their message.
[00:00:38] Why did God grant them such favor?
[00:00:41] Because the believers were of one accord.
[00:00:44] They selflessly worked together to see the gospel go forth.
[00:00:48] We often pray for a spiritual awakening in our world, but God isn't going to send
[00:00:53] a revival to people who aren't unified, body and soul, under the hand of the Holy Spirit.
[00:00:59] In Romans 15, Paul shares six principles we must exhibit to receive the unique blessing
[00:01:06] of unity.
[00:01:07] Number one, we put ourselves under the authority of Scripture.
[00:01:12] Number two, we put others up.
[00:01:16] Three, we put ourselves lower.
[00:01:19] Four, we put Christ always before us.
[00:01:23] Five, we put ourselves under God's power.
[00:01:27] Six, we put the pursuit of God's glory above all else.
[00:01:32] Notice that selfless unity must first be grounded in God's word.
[00:01:36] The truth of the gospel should never be compromised just to get along.
[00:01:41] Where believers put these principles into practice, watch out.
[00:01:46] God's power and love will become manifest to a world in darkness.
[00:01:52] Let's pray together.
[00:01:53] Lord, give us the strength and the will to seek to live out these principles of unity
[00:01:59] for the blessing of Your people and the world.
