[00:00:00] [SPEAKER_00]: You are listening to MY Devotional, the Daily Devotional from Dr. Michael Youssef and Leading The Way.
[00:00:08] [SPEAKER_01]: Remain Faithful to Gods Word by Dr. Michael Youssef
[00:00:12] [SPEAKER_01]: If we in the Church would humble ourselves and repent of our sins, I believe God would lead us out of our spiritual and cultural exile.
[00:00:21] [SPEAKER_01]: What then should we repent of? What are the sins of the Church? They are the same sins Israel committed in the Old Testament,
[00:00:28] [SPEAKER_01]: sins of spiritual adultery and unfathefulness to God in His Word. As the prophet is equal, prophesied against Israel,
[00:00:36] [SPEAKER_01]: then in the nations where they have been carried captive those who escaped will remember me.
[00:00:41] [SPEAKER_01]: How I have been grieved by their adulterous hearts which have turned away from me and by their eyes which have lusted after their idols.
[00:00:49] [SPEAKER_01]: They will loath themselves for the evil they have done and for all their detestable practices.
[00:00:55] [SPEAKER_01]: You may say, but I love God. I go to church faithfully how am I guilty of spiritual adultery when have I lusted after idols?
[00:01:05] [SPEAKER_01]: God told Israel through the prophet Hosea,
[00:01:08] [SPEAKER_01]: The people have broken my covenant and rebelled against my law,
[00:01:12] [SPEAKER_01]: but the people cried out in protest, oh God we acknowledge you!
[00:01:16] [SPEAKER_01]: God replied, but Israel has rejected what is good and enemy will pursue him.
[00:01:22] [SPEAKER_01]: They set up kings without my consent. They choose princes without my approval,
[00:01:28] [SPEAKER_01]: with their silver and gold they make idols for themselves to their own destruction.
[00:01:33] [SPEAKER_01]: They sow the wind and reap the world-land.
[00:01:37] [SPEAKER_01]: The people thought they knew God and had acknowledged him yet God replied that Israel had rejected God's will,
[00:01:43] [SPEAKER_01]: had chased after false gods and as a result of their unfathefulness, the enemy would pursue them.
[00:01:50] [SPEAKER_01]: So we have to ask ourselves, how have we, as Christians in the 21st century, been unfatheful to God?
[00:01:59] [SPEAKER_01]: What false gods have we been chasing after?
[00:02:03] [SPEAKER_01]: May the Lord reveal any sin in our hearts today that we might repent and turn to Him.
[00:02:11] [SPEAKER_01]: Let's pray together. Lord help us to see the ways that we have strayed from your word and chosen worldly pursuits
[00:02:17] [SPEAKER_01]: instead of wholeheartedly seeking you. Expose the deception and sins in our hearts that we may repent
[00:02:25] [SPEAKER_01]: and live more fully free. We pray this in the name of Jesus.
[00:02:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Dana.
