[00:00:12] To delight in God's presence we must know Him, His character, attributes and heart as
[00:00:18] He has revealed to us in His Word.
[00:00:22] The Reformer Martin Luther once wrote, God is everywhere, however He does not want
[00:00:27] us to reach out to Him everywhere, only in His Word.
[00:00:31] Reach out for the Word and you will grasp Him aright, otherwise you are setting yourself
[00:00:37] up for idolatry.
[00:00:40] People are drawn to greatness, whether the grandeur of creation or the fame of the
[00:00:45] eloquent.
[00:00:46] But if we stop at the creation and do not look beyond this to the Creator, we will wind
[00:00:52] up worshiping false gods and miss out on the only majesty that will satisfy our souls, the
[00:00:58] one true God who deserves our complete worship in submission.
[00:01:03] The good news for us is that God wants to be known.
[00:01:06] That's why He chose to reveal Himself specially to us through Scripture.
[00:01:11] It is through His Word that God shows us His divine qualities and matchless character,
[00:01:16] His faithfulness, love, mercy, justice, grace, power, holiness and more, that enable us to
[00:01:22] delight in His presence.
[00:01:25] As you read here and study the Bible, you will only fall more in love with the Lord.
[00:01:31] So plumb the depths of Scripture and proclaim with the psalmist, in the way of your testimonies
[00:01:37] I delight as much as in all riches.
[00:01:41] Let's pray together.
[00:01:42] Lord, we pray that You would open our eyes to see Your majesty so that we might praise
[00:01:47] You all the days of our lives.
[00:01:49] Help us to delight in submitting to You and Your Word.
