[00:00:30] He cried out to God and the Lord answered him, Psalm 275, for in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling.
[00:00:39] He will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent and set me high upon a rock.
[00:00:44] If David had abandoned all self-control, his enemies would have overthrown him.
[00:00:49] Instead, he waited on God's deliverance. He knew that the Lord was His rock and redeemer.
[00:00:56] The fruit of the Spirit is God's instructional toolset given to us so that we will know how to face life's problems and sorrows correctly.
[00:01:04] Paul reminds us to keep in step with the Spirit, let us not become conceited, provoking, and invying each other.
[00:01:13] That's Galatians 5, 25-26.
[00:01:16] The fruit of the Spirit teaches us how to stay alert to Satan's schemes.
[00:01:21] Pride is one of the favorite snares.
[00:01:24] In the classic devotional my utmost for his highest, Oswald Chambers warns always remain alert to the fact that where one man has gone back is exactly where anyone may go back.
[00:01:37] When we yield to pride, we set ourselves up for a fall.
[00:01:41] But if we practice the fruit of the Spirit, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control,
[00:01:50] then the enemy will not be able to set up strongholds in our lives.
[00:01:55] Therefore, be alert and submit your life to Christ.
[00:01:59] No matter what this life may hand you, God has given you all that you need to handle it in His strength.
[00:02:07] Let's pray together, Lord teach us how to rely on Your strength instead of our own. Protect us from pride.
[00:02:14] Lead us in the way of humility so that we may honor you and be a blessing to others.
[00:02:19] Let there be no strongholds in our lives for the enemy to use for evil purposes.
[00:02:24] We pray this in the name of Jesus, Amen.
