[00:00:08] Preparing for the End Times by Dr. Michael Youssef.
[00:00:12] Are you ready to meet the Lord?
[00:00:15] If you're not sure you're prepared for the Lord's return, Jesus has something to
[00:00:19] say to you today.
[00:00:21] In Matthew chapter 25 we find a parable about a wedding feast and 10 virgins who fall
[00:00:27] asleep waiting for the bridegroom to arrive with his procession.
[00:00:32] Five of the virgins were wise, and five were foolish.
[00:00:36] Five had oil in their lamps, five did not.
[00:00:39] In the same way some Christians will be ready for the Lord's return, and some who
[00:00:43] profess the name of Christ will not be.
[00:00:47] When we read this parable carefully we ought to notice several things the wise and foolish
[00:00:52] virgins have in common.
[00:00:54] Both groups were invited, and both responded positively to the invitation.
[00:00:59] Both groups had affection toward the bridegroom, believed in his coming, and fell asleep.
[00:01:05] But as soon as the bridegroom showed up the similarities ended.
[00:01:09] Only one group was prepared for his coming.
[00:01:12] The Bible tells us that there will be a great falling away at the end of history.
[00:01:17] Many people who claim to know Christ will be revealed to be faithless.
[00:01:22] During those days Jesus warned, because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most
[00:01:27] will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.
[00:01:33] Did you know that according to a recent report from the Barner group more than 64% of professing
[00:01:38] Christians said there are other ways to God besides Jesus?
[00:01:44] How can that be?
[00:01:45] When Jesus said, I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father
[00:01:51] except through me.
[00:01:53] He is the only way.
[00:01:56] In that same report, 44% of professing Christians said they believe Jesus sinned.
[00:02:02] Such a thing would be a total contradiction of God's plan of salvation.
[00:02:06] How can a sinner save sinners?
[00:02:11] These numbers tell me there are many people in the church today who are like the foolish
[00:02:15] virgins in Jesus' parable.
[00:02:18] They are unprepared for His coming.
[00:02:21] If you are not 100% sure you are prepared for Jesus' return, don't wait another day.
[00:02:28] Commit yourself to the Lord fully, not just with words but with your whole life.
[00:02:33] Let's pray together.
[00:02:35] Jesus help us to be alert for your return.
[00:02:37] We want to be working for your kingdom, leading others into your truth.
[00:02:42] Give us your vision for eternity.
[00:02:44] Help us to keep our eyes on you by the power of your spirit.
[00:02:48] We pray this in the name of Jesus.
