[00:00:08] Overcoming Insecurities by Dr. Michael Youssef
[00:00:13] Is fear standing in your way of accomplishing great things for God?
[00:00:17] Do you pray for opportunities to share Christ but find that when the time comes you are
[00:00:22] too timid to speak up?
[00:00:24] Everyone experiences fears and doubts.
[00:00:27] In Paul's second letter to Timothy we see that even this young apprentice of Paul fought
[00:00:31] his own personal insecurities.
[00:00:34] Paul encourages Timothy, for the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid but gives us
[00:00:39] power, love and self-discipline.
[00:00:42] So do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord or of me, His prisoner.
[00:00:47] Rather join with me in suffering for the gospel by the power of God.
[00:00:53] During Paul's time Christians faced hardships and persecution.
[00:00:57] Today is no different.
[00:00:58] Around the world people are risking everything to share the gospel.
[00:01:02] While you may never face imprisonment for your faith, you no doubt find other difficulties
[00:01:07] in ministering to others, hostile responses, ridicule or rejection.
[00:01:13] You may fear saying the wrong thing or feel insecure about approaching the topic
[00:01:17] of faith, not knowing where to begin.
[00:01:20] But whenever God calls us to a task and we are all called to be witnesses for
[00:01:25] Christ.
[00:01:26] He will equip us and prepare us to do His work.
[00:01:30] No matter what the circumstances, no matter what our fears, God can overcome them if we
[00:01:35] allow His Spirit to work through us.
[00:01:40] Let's pray together.
[00:01:41] God thank You for giving us the Spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.
[00:01:46] Help us to allow Your Spirit to work in us to overcome any fears that may be holding
[00:01:51] us back from being a witness for You.
[00:01:53] We pray this in the name of Jesus.
