We must stand firm in our faith in Christ to prepare our children to live for Christ in a culture that is hostile to the Gospel.

[00:00:08] Our Responsibility to the Next Generation by Dr. Michael Youssef
[00:00:14] We want the best for our children.
[00:00:17] We work hard to provide them with the best opportunities, education, possessions and quality of life.
[00:00:23] But this earthly foundation is as weak as sand compared to the solid rock in Christ.
[00:00:28] The psalmist declared, unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.
[00:00:34] Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain.
[00:00:40] We work and work to provide for the next generation.
[00:00:44] But how often do we call out to God to form the foundation of their lives and to watch over them?
[00:00:50] Today we face forces that are attacking our future generations.
[00:00:54] These forces are unashamedly seeking to destroy our society, our morality, our faith, our convictions.
[00:01:01] Unless we're firmly anchored on the rock of ages, unless we trust in the living God, unless we are vigilant in prayer and fellowship with God,
[00:01:10] the enemy will be able to vanquish our children.
[00:01:14] We have a great responsibility to the next generation.
[00:01:17] They may not yet realize the dangers they're facing or how to pray for protection and guidance, but we know.
[00:01:25] We can pray big prayers to God for the next generation.
[00:01:29] We can pray for God to build our homes and our cities on His foundation.
[00:01:34] We can model for the next generation how to pray selflessly and ceaselessly to God.
[00:01:40] We can model for our children that our trust and security is in God, not in our material possessions or earthly successes.
[00:01:50] Let's pray together.
[00:01:52] God forgive us for the times that we've forgotten to pray for our children.
[00:01:56] Help them to recognize the power of prayer as they watch our lives.
[00:02:00] We pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
