[00:00:13] Therefore I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy to offer your bodies
[00:00:18] as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God, this is your true and proper worship.
[00:00:26] That's Romans 12-1.
[00:00:27] In light of God's mercy toward us, Paul commands us to offer our lives to him in worship.
[00:00:34] God has graciously given us everything we have and acknowledging his tremendous love, we
[00:00:39] must give it all back to him.
[00:00:42] Worship is our only response to God's great mercy.
[00:00:47] It's our only response to his unbelievable, indescribable, unfathomable grace.
[00:00:54] It's the only way to express our gratitude and thanksgiving appropriately.
[00:00:59] And it's the secret to lasting contentment, joy, victory, and satisfaction.
[00:01:05] Worship is meant to include every moment of our lives—not just on Sunday, but Monday
[00:01:11] through Saturday too.
[00:01:14] True worship means daily dying to yourself and living for Christ.
[00:01:19] Wherever you go, there must go a living sacrifice, whether you are in a boardroom or on the factory
[00:01:26] floor, whether you're doing housework, parenting, or serving others.
[00:01:30] Living for God is a slow death of our pride, our will, and our self-sufficiency.
[00:01:37] That's why it's often more difficult to live for Jesus than to die for Jesus.
[00:01:43] Your motive for giving your life to God must always be generated out of a response
[00:01:48] to his mercy toward you.
[00:01:50] True worship is not about what you can get from him, but what you can give to him.
[00:01:56] It's about showing God how much the mercy and grace he has lavished upon your soul means to you.
[00:02:03] Let's pray together.
[00:02:04] Lord, thank You for lavishing Your love upon us and making us new.
[00:02:09] We want to be like You, Jesus, that You might receive honor and glory for resurrecting
[00:02:14] our dead hearts and giving us eternal life.
[00:02:17] We pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
