[00:00:08] One Lost Sheep by Dr. Michael Youssef In Luke chapter 15 verses 1-7, Jesus shares
[00:00:17] the parable of the lost sheep to further reveal the heart of God to us.
[00:00:22] In it we see that God's love is so merciful and personal that He notices and pursues even
[00:00:28] one erring sheep.
[00:00:30] How amazing that our God is intimately concerned with those who have strayed from His fold.
[00:00:37] In the parable, when the shepherd finds his sheep, He joyfully puts it on his shoulders and carries
[00:00:43] the sheep all the way home.
[00:00:45] The shepherd never sets the sheep down, but carries the entire burden on his strong shoulders.
[00:00:52] Likewise, Christ stands ready to take all of our burdens, whether physical infirmities, heartbreaks,
[00:00:58] or worries.
[00:00:59] He has shoulders capable of bearing any weight we're willing to give up to Him.
[00:01:04] Your burdens become His burdens as you rest in Him.
[00:01:08] Christ pursues us, saves us, carries us, and rejoices over us.
[00:01:14] Luke chapter 15 verse 6 says,
[00:01:17] The shepherd then calls his friends and neighbors together and says,
[00:01:22] Rejoice with me, I have found my lost sheep.
[00:01:26] How long has it been since you brought so much joy to someone that the person wanted to throw
[00:01:31] you a party?
[00:01:32] How does it feel to know that your salvation brings such joy to our Almighty God?
[00:01:40] God.
[00:01:41] Let's pray together.
[00:01:42] Lord, help us to fully understand how extravagantly You love us.
[00:01:47] Help us to remember that You are our shepherd and You've given us everything, including Your
[00:01:52] life, to rescue us.
[00:01:55] We pray this in the name of Jesus.
