The cycle of unfaithfulness, exile, repentance, and deliverance goes back to our first parents, Adam and Eve. They chose to go the wrong way and set in motion this cycle of rebellion and suffering that has echoed throughout history. In today’s devotional, Dr. Michael Youssef examines the cycle of sin that began in the Garden of Eden.

[00:00:08] [SPEAKER_01]: Not Without Hope, by Dr. Michael Youssef. The cycle of unfaithfulness, exile, repentance and deliverance goes all the way back to our first parents, Adam and Eve.
[00:00:21] [SPEAKER_01]: They chose to go the wrong way and they set in motion this cycle of rebellion and suffering that has echoed down through history.
[00:00:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Now we, in the Christian Church and Western civilization and throughout the world, are experiencing significant suffering as a result of centuries of spiritual compromise.
[00:00:41] [SPEAKER_01]: Western civilization was founded by the Christian Reformation, a movement that brought light and life to a world emerging from the dark ages.
[00:00:51] [SPEAKER_01]: But Western civilization has fallen away from its founding principles, so we need a new reformation to awaken the West from its slumber.
[00:01:01] [SPEAKER_01]: We who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ are not without hope.
[00:01:05] [SPEAKER_01]: We have the greatest hope of all that hope is in the God-man who hung on a cross to redeem humanity and who rose again to prove his divine power.
[00:01:15] [SPEAKER_01]: Today, his arms are open wide and he calls to us, repent, come to me and I will deliver you from your enemies and restore you to hold us.
[00:01:26] [SPEAKER_01]: The cyclical pattern that began with Adam and Eve continued throughout Old Testament times and remains in effect today, can yet be broken.
[00:01:36] [SPEAKER_01]: We are not doomed to destruction but we haven't a moment to lose it is time to answer the call of our Redeemer.
[00:01:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Let's pray together.
[00:01:46] [SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, Lord, for the tremendous hope we have in you a hope that does not fail.
[00:01:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Open the eyes of your church, Father, may you restore us to our roles as faithful disciples who point people to the gospel of truth.
[00:02:01] [SPEAKER_01]: We pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
