[00:00:00] You are listening to My Devotional, the daily devotional from Dr. Michael Youssef and Leading
[00:00:06] the Way.
[00:00:08] Lost Treasure by Dr. Michael Youssef The parable of the lost coin found in Luke 15,
[00:00:17] verses 8-10, portrays a woman's urgency to find one of her most treasured possessions.
[00:00:24] As is common when something of value is lost, she spares no effort to find her lost coin.
[00:00:29] You can feel her heart racing in panic as she lights a lamp and sweeps the dirt floor
[00:00:34] carefully and methodically until she finds what was lost.
[00:00:38] When she finds it, she is ecstatic and she includes her friends and neighbors in her joy.
[00:00:44] An interesting element of the parable is that the woman lost the coin in her own home.
[00:00:50] She was not traveling or in an unfamiliar territory.
[00:00:53] She lost her treasure in her day-to-day routine.
[00:00:57] The same is true of many Christians.
[00:00:59] They haven't wandered away from the Father or set off for a distant country to revel in
[00:01:05] sin.
[00:01:05] Rather, they have lost the treasure of their relationship with the Lord in their day-to-day routine.
[00:01:11] At first, the lost treasure may be overlooked.
[00:01:14] However, the loss will eventually be apparent.
[00:01:17] Have you lost the treasure of a personal relationship with the Lord who loves you?
[00:01:24] Let's pray together.
[00:01:26] Lord, we're afraid that in the midst of our daily routine, we may have lost the treasure
[00:01:31] of time spent with you.
[00:01:33] Forgive us and help us to find it again.
[00:01:37] We pray this in the name of Jesus.
[00:01:39] Amen.
