[00:00:30] The implication of the Babylonian's figure of speech reaches to the heavens is that the top of their tower would be dedicated to the worship of heavenly bodies.
[00:00:50] It was from Babylon that astrology, the belief that the stars and planets influence human affairs and events on earth, was passed on to the entire world.
[00:01:00] After 400 years of slavery in Egypt even the Hebrews had begun to practice astrology.
[00:01:07] When the Lord brought them out of Egypt he warned them against worshipping the stars. In reality those who look to the stars for the key to their destinies are worshipping Satan and his demonic forces.
[00:01:20] Notice Satan's modus operandi. After he was thrown out of heaven, Satan deceived Adam and Eve into doubting God and managed to get them thrown out of the garden of Eden.
[00:01:33] Then Satan deceived Cain into worshipping in his own way rather than God's way which led Abel's murder and ultimately to the massive destruction of life by the flood.
[00:01:44] Then Satan deceived Ham's descendants into worshipping the zodiac, actually the worship of demons, thereby causing their destruction.
[00:01:54] Satan always sows deception and confusion, he convinces people to take the gift and turn it into an idol. When people don't worship God they embrace false gods intentionally or not.
[00:02:08] Let's pray together.
[00:02:10] Lord you have warned us against worshipping false gods, help us to avoid the temptation of looking to the world's deceptive practices for advice and counsel.
[00:02:19] Instead we turn our hearts toward the truth of your word. We pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
