[00:00:16] [SPEAKER_01]: came up with a slogan that claimed, things go better with their product. Who can say what
[00:00:24] [SPEAKER_01]: the positive effects of a soft drink are? But we certainly know that life goes much better
[00:00:30] [SPEAKER_01]: with praise. When we fail to praise God, frustration builds. God is grieved and we missed an opportunity
[00:00:38] [SPEAKER_01]: for a great blessing. When we take time to praise Him, feelings of fear, doubt, and frustration
[00:00:44] [SPEAKER_01]: fade. The psalmist declares, May the peoples praise You, God. May all the peoples praise
[00:00:51] [SPEAKER_01]: you. The land yields its harvest. God, our God, blesses us. Praise is the prelude to blessing.
[00:01:01] [SPEAKER_01]: Henry W. Frost, a veteran missionary to China, discovered the power of praise amid dark and
[00:01:07] [SPEAKER_01]: difficult circumstances. He wrote, Nothing so pleases God in connection with our prayer as praise,
[00:01:15] [SPEAKER_01]: and nothing so blesses the man who prays as the praise which he offers. Frost further explained just
[00:01:25] [SPEAKER_01]: how he learned this truth. A deep shadow had covered my soul. I prayed and I prayed, but the darkness
[00:01:31] [SPEAKER_01]: didn't vanish. I summoned myself to endure, but the darkness only deepened. Then I went to an island
[00:01:37] [SPEAKER_01]: station and saw on the wall of the mission home these words, Try praising the Lord. I did,
[00:01:44] [SPEAKER_01]: and in a moment every shadow was gone not to return. Yes, the psalmist was right. It is a good thing to
[00:01:52] [SPEAKER_01]: give praise unto the Lord. Praise does not reduce the seriousness of the problems facing us, but it can
[00:01:59] [SPEAKER_01]: certainly lift our downcast eyes to the one who has the power to lift our hearts and to offer us eternal
[00:02:05] [SPEAKER_01]: hope. When trouble increases and the day's stress seems too much for you to bear, try praising God,
[00:02:12] [SPEAKER_01]: and you'll experience his wondrous joy. Let's pray together. Father, I know your faithfulness is bigger
[00:02:19] [SPEAKER_01]: than any trial that we could ever go through. Thank you for the hope and peace that come when we worship
[00:02:25] [SPEAKER_01]: you instead of focusing on our problems. We pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
