[00:00:08] Hoping in the Messiah by Dr. Michael Youssef,
[00:00:13] Psalmist have predicted the coming of the Lord Jesus with accuracy,
[00:00:17] and he has come our Savior, our Messiah.
[00:00:20] So what are the prophecies about him mean for us today?
[00:00:24] How can we relate to these Psalmist who spoke of Jesus 1,000 years before his birth,
[00:00:29] when we're living 2,000 years after?
[00:00:34] The Psalmist were people just like us. They had warring emotions on one hand courage
[00:00:39] when facing the enemies of God, on the other utter despair before God.
[00:00:45] On the one hand they exhibited exuberant confidence in the presence of God.
[00:00:50] On the other, they raised in treating Christ to God's fulfill His promises.
[00:00:56] Can you identify with that?
[00:00:57] The Messianic Psalms show us that regardless of our emotions toward our circumstances,
[00:01:04] we can come to God. Though God is awesome and mighty, he is also our loving provider.
[00:01:10] The Psalmist helped us to look at God in all circumstances
[00:01:13] so that we can rest in His faithful, unstoppable, loving kindness.
[00:01:19] The Psalmist also reminds us that while Christ has come,
[00:01:22] there is yet a more glorious day the day of His return.
[00:01:26] They exhort us to remember the past, prepare in the present,
[00:01:31] and joyfully anticipate our future.
[00:01:34] That means remembering the work of the Lord in your life,
[00:01:37] the hound of heaven seeking you out to bring you into His salvation.
[00:01:43] It means preparing now for the return of Jesus,
[00:01:45] allowing His Spirit to make every part of you subject to the King of kings
[00:01:49] for He alone is trustworthy and pure.
[00:01:52] And it means waiting, expectantly, for the future glory that's promised,
[00:01:57] being in the presence of the Lord,
[00:01:59] enjoying Him forever in the new heaven and the new earth.
[00:02:03] Come, Lord Jesus.
[00:02:05] Let's pray together.
[00:02:07] My Lord and King, my hope is in you.
[00:02:09] Help us to remember your goodness, prepare for your coming,
[00:02:14] anticipate the future consummation of your purposes.
[00:02:17] You're eternal kingdom.
[00:02:19] We pray this in the name of Jesus.
[00:02:21] Amen.
[00:02:22] The verse today Hebrews chapter 11 verse 1,
[00:02:26] Now faith is confidence in what we hope for
[00:02:29] and assurance about what we do not see.
