[00:00:00] You are listening to my Devotional, the Daily Devotional from Dr. Michael Youssef and Leading The Way. Hold fast to your security by Dr. Michael Youssef. People worldwide no matter how rich, famous or powerful, long for security.
[00:00:19] That's why we have an alarm system in our homes and why nations have police forces and armies. But despite this deep longing, the secret to feeling secure eludes most people.
[00:00:32] When it comes to your life, you cannot count on anyone or anything to save you other than the blood of Jesus Christ. Baptism will not save you. Mission work will not save you. Going to confession will not save you.
[00:00:47] Going to church once a month or even ten times a day will not save you. No one is made righteous through these things. Only faith and surrender to the Lord Jesus Christ will give you security now and in heaven.
[00:01:03] There are so many professing Christians today who think that they can live anyway they want, and that as long as they go to church once a week they will go to heaven. They are gravely mistaken, and there is no fear of God before their eyes.
[00:01:19] As for you and me, let us live in obedience to Christ. He is our only hope in the never-ending troubles of this life. Let us acknowledge that we are helpless without his power asking him to circumcise our hearts.
[00:01:32] In this way, we will have an unshakable sense of security that holds fast no matter what tomorrow brings. Let's pray together. Lord, you are our righteousness, our salvation, our reward. We know you love us and we will never leave us. You are steadfast and true.
