[00:00:00] You are listening to my Devotional, the Daily Devotional from Dr. Michael Youssef and Leading The Way. God, the Shepherd, by Dr. Michael Youssef Who is in control of your life? Who directs your plans, dreams and goals? We are all influenced by something.

[00:00:21] Our egos are greed, our pride, our circumstances, or our relationships. But only the Lord who created us in every living thing has the right to claim ownership over our lives. In Psalm 23 verse 1, David declares, The Lord is my Shepherd, I lack nothing. David acknowledges God as his Shepherd.

[00:00:44] A sheep's life isn't easy, but no matter what the circumstances this Shepherd provides guidance and comfort. The Lord, our Shepherd, is good and gives us guidance and comfort. We are never in need because our Shepherd cares for us.

[00:01:01] He provides us rest when we cannot carry on in our own strength. He quench his thirst. He restores us and forgives us when we're broken and weak. He makes us lie down in green pastures and leads us beside quiet waters. He refreshes our soul.

[00:01:20] Even in our darkest days, our Shepherd will remain with us. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil for you or with me. Your rod, your staff, they comfort me. With the Shepherd leading us, we have nothing to fear.

[00:01:38] Not the disappointments of life, the darkest days, not even death itself. Whatever valley we go through, God is leading us to higher ground. Let's pray together. God, thank you for being our Shepherd. Thank you for your guidance and comfort. We pray this on the name of Jesus. Amen.

[00:02:01] In a heart for God, lessons from the life of David, Dr. Michael Usep takes you on a journey through the highs and the lows of David's life. As you experience David's most desperate cries in the Psalms, you'll witness the power of a life completely surrendered to God.

[00:02:19] As you see the grandeur picture of David's life, you'll also discover how it all points to Christ Jesus, the perfect king who uses broken people to do great things for his kingdom. To learn more about this inspiring new book and to secure your copy, visit LTW.org today.
