[00:00:00] You are listening to My Devotional, the daily devotional from Dr. Michael Youssef and Leading
[00:00:06] the Way. Explore the Names of God by Dr. Michael Youssef
[00:00:14] God chose names for Himself that reflect His character, His personality, and His identity.
[00:00:20] They are not a human invention, but a composite of His nature, His sovereignty, and His desires.
[00:00:26] His names are, in a very real sense, a gift to us so that we might begin comprehending
[00:00:32] His greatness. We must not take our adoption as God's children for granted. We are heirs,
[00:00:38] reflections of our Heavenly Father. We must be ever aware of how privileged we are to be called
[00:00:44] sons and daughters of the Most High God. As you learn the meanings behind the Names of God,
[00:00:50] you will realize that there is great power in His name. Are you in the middle of a battle or struggle
[00:00:55] now? Call upon the name of God. Psalm 124.8 tells us, Our help is in the name of the Lord,
[00:01:04] the Maker of heaven and earth. He is our strength, our shepherd, the Great I Am. He is with us now,
[00:01:10] and has already given us the victory. If you want to know God and grow in your relationship with Him,
[00:01:17] learn about His names. Use them in your prayer time. Meditate on what each name means for God's
[00:01:24] character. As you learn His names, Yahweh, Jehovah Jireh, Jehovah Rapha, Jehovah Nisi, Jehovah Makedesh,
[00:01:35] Jehovah Shalom, and more. Pray that God will open your eyes to better understand His personality
[00:01:42] and character. Let's pray together. Lord, thank you for revealing yourself to us in your names.
[00:01:48] We pray that we would learn your names and grow into a better understanding of who you are. We love
[00:01:55] you. And we pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen. Interested in receiving more biblical encouragement,
