[00:00:12] Worry is incompatible with the Christian life.
[00:00:16] At the root of all anxiety is the fear that we'll lose something valuable, but no matter
[00:00:21] how many material possessions we collect or how much money we have in the bank, these
[00:00:26] things can never bring us peace or contentment.
[00:00:29] However, we will be at peace when we know that God gave us everything and that it's all for
[00:00:35] His glory anyway.
[00:00:37] You will be at peace.
[00:00:39] Why?
[00:00:40] Because just as God gave it to you, He will multiply it.
[00:00:43] He will multiply it to you so that you can keep on doing the work of God.
[00:00:48] God seeks conduits, people whose gifts and blessings can flow to others.
[00:00:54] You see, fear and faith do not mix.
[00:00:57] If we're paying attention to all that the Lord is doing in the world, it's hard to live in
[00:01:02] a state of anxiety.
[00:01:04] The opposite is also true.
[00:01:06] It's impossible to fully trust God's character, intentions and promises if we're living in
[00:01:11] a constant state of fear.
[00:01:13] Jesus showed that worry reveals where we are reluctant to trust God.
[00:01:19] But God is infinitely trustworthy, the very definition of faith, because God is who
[00:01:24] He is, perfectly loving, just and sovereign.
[00:01:28] Worry is pointless.
[00:01:30] To find peace and contentment we must lose ourselves in obedience to the Lord.
[00:01:35] Worry comes from focusing on how dangerous this world is.
[00:01:39] Contentment comes from proclaiming the goodness of God in the Gospel of Jesus Christ to
[00:01:44] the lost.
[00:01:45] Worry thinks about what we don't have or what we might lose.
[00:01:50] Contentment thinks of what we have already is yet to come, the very presence of God in
[00:01:56] glory.
[00:01:58] Brothers and sisters, God is good.
[00:02:01] There is peace in His presence, and He wants us to have it.
[00:02:04] Serenity fills the courts of heaven, and He wants us to have the same peace in our
[00:02:10] lives.
[00:02:11] His peace cannot be fabricated, duplicated or falsified.
[00:02:15] His peace is above and beyond explanation, even amid life's worst storms.
[00:02:20] He freely offers His peace to all who would receive it.
[00:02:25] Let's pray together.
[00:02:26] Jesus forgive us for despairing when life is hard.
[00:02:30] We know that worry doesn't add any good to our life, so help us to turn away from
[00:02:35] fear and instead exercise faith.
[00:02:39] We know that as we do, we will be filled with your peace.
[00:02:44] We pray this in the name of Jesus.
