[00:00:00] [SPEAKER_01]: You are listening to MY Devotional, the Daily Devotional from Dr. Michael Youssef and Leading The Way.

[00:00:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Dealing with Bullies, by Dr. Michael Youssef.

[00:00:12] [SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot we can learn from Daniel's response to King Nebuchadnezzar as we consider how to deal with bullies in our own lives.

[00:00:20] [SPEAKER_00]: We see that Daniel sought God's help through praying with his godly friends.

[00:00:24] [SPEAKER_00]: As we pray for God's help, we also need to pray specifically for the bully.

[00:00:30] [SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes it can seem that earnestly praying blessings upon someone who torments us is more difficult than confronting the bully.

[00:00:38] [SPEAKER_00]: But the power of love will enable us to respond in a godly way.

[00:00:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Daniel's prayers with his friends gave him boldness to go before the bullying king.

[00:00:48] [SPEAKER_00]: As you seek boldness examine your motives before you speak or act, pure motives and a clear conscience will give you strength.

[00:00:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Proverbs tells us the righteous are as bold as a lion.

[00:01:03] [SPEAKER_00]: When we pray for boldness, our motives must be more about others unless about ourselves.

[00:01:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Humility will keep our motives pure.

[00:01:12] [SPEAKER_00]: Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit rather in humility value others above yourselves.

[00:01:21] [SPEAKER_00]: Each of you should look not only to your own interests but also to the interests of others.

[00:01:28] [SPEAKER_00]: In his humility and with the right motives, the next thing Daniel did was to serve the bully.

[00:01:35] [SPEAKER_00]: Through God's insight Daniel was able to share the detailed interpretation of the dream with Nebuchadnezzar.

[00:01:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Daniel helped the very man who threatened his life, Romans chapter 12 verse 14 tells us,

[00:01:49] [SPEAKER_00]: Bless those who persecute you, bless and do not curse.

[00:01:54] [SPEAKER_00]: Daniel's plan produced dramatic results, the king was so grateful and impressed that he felt prostrate before Daniel and paid him honor.

[00:02:03] [SPEAKER_00]: And Daniel and his friends were given great leadership within Babylon.

[00:02:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Your situation may not end as remarkably, but if you seek to resolve your problems through prayer and loving action,

[00:02:18] [SPEAKER_00]: then God will stand with you in your fight.

[00:02:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Let's pray together.

[00:02:23] [SPEAKER_00]: God help us to pray for our enemies and to respond to them in love.

[00:02:29] [SPEAKER_00]: We pray this in the name of Jesus.

[00:02:31] Amen.

[00:02:33] [SPEAKER_01]: If today's devotional encouraged you, we'd love to hear about it.
