God is extremely patient with us. When we begin to rebel, He often lets us run until we return to Him broken and repentant. In today’s devotional, Dr. Michael Youssef reminds us of God's patience through the story of Jonah.

[00:00:00] You are listening to MY Devotional, the Daily Devotional from Dr. Michael Youssef and Leading The Way. Changing Course by Dr. Michael Youssef When you get a moment, read Jonah chapter 1. Jonah thought he had circumvented God's call to Nineveh by sailing away from it.
[00:00:23] What Jonah couldn't see was the storm brewing beyond the horizon. Soon he would discover that his disobedience would cost him far more than the ship's fair. God is extremely patient with us.
[00:00:37] When we begin to rebel, he often lets us run until we return to him broken and repentant. But sometimes God will intervene. Then the Lord sent a great wind on the sea and such a violent storm arose that the ship threatened to break up.
[00:00:53] Are you drifting away from God? Maybe there's a task or a witnessing opportunity he's been nudging you toward, but you may have refused to budge. Or perhaps you've turned a death ear to God's voice, fearing what he may be calling you to do.
[00:01:08] Changing our course can be challenging, but by praying we can listen for the spirit's voice and his wisdom. Seek forgiveness for spiritual drifting or disobedience in your life, commit to a fresh and renewed relationship with Christ. Let's pray together.
[00:01:27] God help us to change course so that we're going in the direction you've called us to go. Guide us, give us wisdom as we listen to your voice. We pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
