[00:00:08] Champions Show Grace and Kindness by Dr. Michael Youssef
[00:00:14] Inside each of us there is a hunger and a thirst for justice.
[00:00:18] We want to see the guilty person get his just do.
[00:00:22] Yet when it comes to us we want mercy and grace extended in our direction.
[00:00:27] We may be deserving of the worst kind of punishment, but we long for someone to give us a second
[00:00:32] chance before harshly condemning us.
[00:00:35] Although God is just in His ways, He also is merciful.
[00:00:41] In fact, God's Word makes it simple.
[00:00:43] James 2 verse 13 says,
[00:00:46] Mercy triumphs over judgment.
[00:00:49] God would rather extend mercy toward us than the harsh consequences of judgment.
[00:00:54] That's why Jesus gave His life for us, so that we would not have to suffer the consequences
[00:00:59] of sin.
[00:01:00] Jesus paid the debt we owe for our sin.
[00:01:04] As believers pursuing the heart of God, we must emulate His heart.
[00:01:09] As God's heart beats with love and kindness, so too should ours.
[00:01:14] That means that when someone sins against us, we do not revile Him for His actions
[00:01:19] and sever our relationship with Him.
[00:01:22] Rather we should lovingly approach Him and seek reconciliation.
[00:01:27] Instead of carrying around in our hearts a thirst for vengeance against someone who has wronged
[00:01:32] us, we should bestow upon Him an abundance of grace and kindness, knowing that such
[00:01:37] an act can soften even the hardest of hearts.
[00:01:40] As we live for Christ in these ways, we prove that His grace and kindness can transform
[00:01:46] a heart of sin into a heart that loves God.
[00:01:50] Set a goal to demonstrate God's grace and kindness to everyone, for all men and women
[00:01:55] need His life-changing compassion.
[00:01:59] Let's pray together.
[00:02:00] Lord, please fill our hearts with grace and kindness for the world around us.
[00:02:06] We pray this in the name of Jesus.
