[00:00:06] The Way.
[00:00:08] Champions Loathe Sin by Dr. Michael Youssef.
[00:00:13] It's easy, especially when we're living in a world riddled with sin, to become desensitized
[00:00:19] to sinful behavior.
[00:00:21] In all kinds of media, we see an array of acts that break God's heart.
[00:00:25] And as these ideas and new cultural shifts become more and more commonplace, we grow numb
[00:00:31] to their presence.
[00:00:33] While it might be difficult for us to imagine God becoming outraged, He does.
[00:00:39] Sin stirs His anger because He knows its evil potential.
[00:00:43] In Jeremiah 44-4, God says, Again and again I sent my servants to prophets who said,
[00:00:51] Do not do this detestable thing that I hate.
[00:00:54] God's not merely disturbed by sin, He loathes it.
[00:00:59] Sin is diametrically opposed to loving God.
[00:01:04] Sin breeds on the credence that says, I don't believe that God knows what's best for my
[00:01:09] life so I'm going to do it my way.
[00:01:12] Whatever I feel I'm going to do because that will make me happier than obeying God.
[00:01:18] At the root of sin is a defiance to God's authority, a determination to live life anyway
[00:01:25] but God's way.
[00:01:27] And God hates this.
[00:01:29] He knows that when people develop this pattern of thinking they are venturing down a dangerous
[00:01:34] road.
[00:01:35] In His infinite wisdom and love for us, God knows what is best, a life of freedom
[00:01:42] in Him unshackled from sin.
[00:01:44] To walk in the light of God's love we must understand how He feels about sin and we must
[00:01:50] feel the same way.
[00:01:52] Sin should not simply annoy us, it should stir us to action, to repentance and to prayer,
[00:01:57] motivating us to pray for ourselves and others.
[00:02:01] When we see sin it should make us defiant toward the enemy and more determined to
[00:02:07] live holy lives.
[00:02:09] Let's pray together.
[00:02:10] Lord, help us to realize the gravity of sin in our own lives and the lives of those around
[00:02:16] us.
[00:02:16] Thank you for your precious blood of Christ that covers every sin.
[00:02:21] Help us to confess and repent, turning away from evil and loathing it like you do.
[00:02:29] We pray this in the name of Jesus.
[00:02:31] Amen.
