[00:00:06] [SPEAKER_00]: The Way.

[00:00:08] [SPEAKER_01]: Champions Learn From Their Mistakes by Dr. Michael Youssef

[00:00:13] [SPEAKER_01]: On the tennis court a young woman flashed a smile of admiration at her opponent after

[00:00:18] [SPEAKER_01]: he hit a winning shot.

[00:00:20] [SPEAKER_01]: His floating backhand carried so much spin on it that the moment it hit the court

[00:00:24] [SPEAKER_01]: it bounced back over the net before the woman had a chance to hit it.

[00:00:29] [SPEAKER_01]: Sensing that he had spotted a weakness in the woman's game, he attempted the same shot

[00:00:33] [SPEAKER_01]: again, but this time the woman never let the ball hit the court.

[00:00:37] [SPEAKER_01]: Instead she smashed it back over the net at her opponent's feet for a winning shot.

[00:00:43] [SPEAKER_01]: A lesson learned?

[00:00:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Most of us would hope so.

[00:00:47] [SPEAKER_01]: However many people fell to learn from their mistakes in her doom to repeat them over

[00:00:51] [SPEAKER_01]: again.

[00:00:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Possibly in an effort to impress his court companion, this fellow tried the shot again

[00:00:56] [SPEAKER_01]: and was met with the same result.

[00:00:59] [SPEAKER_01]: God wants us to learn from our mistakes, not just so that we don't make the same mistakes

[00:01:05] [SPEAKER_01]: repeatedly, but so that we gain wisdom to help us with other trials.

[00:01:10] [SPEAKER_01]: Whenever we feel that we've already conquered a certain problem, we must take time for

[00:01:14] [SPEAKER_01]: some serious reflection.

[00:01:16] [SPEAKER_01]: Are we confident in our own ability or in God?

[00:01:19] [SPEAKER_01]: In pride do we think there is no room for improvement or humbly consider ways to

[00:01:24] [SPEAKER_01]: honor God even more, applying what we've learned to other areas of our lives.

[00:01:29] [SPEAKER_01]: True champions do not spend their lives trying to get it right.

[00:01:33] [SPEAKER_01]: They spend their time getting better.

[00:01:35] [SPEAKER_01]: If we desire to be all God has called us to be, we must be people who are willing

[00:01:40] [SPEAKER_01]: to strive until we get it right and then go on to get even better.

[00:01:47] [SPEAKER_01]: God wants you to learn all that you can from life's difficulties.

[00:01:51] [SPEAKER_01]: As you go through each one, ask Him to help you grow in your faith and show you ways you

[00:01:56] [SPEAKER_01]: can honor Him with your life.

[00:01:59] [SPEAKER_01]: Let's pray together.

[00:02:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Lord, please help us discern what lesson you want to teach us in each situation in our

[00:02:06] [SPEAKER_01]: lives.

[00:02:06] [SPEAKER_01]: We pray this in the name of Jesus.

[00:02:08] [SPEAKER_01]: Amen.
