[00:00:13] The longer we walk down the road with God, the more self-aware we must become.
[00:00:19] To go the distance we cannot wonder aimlessly toward God, oblivious to our surroundings.
[00:00:24] It takes focus and determination, as well as a heart bent on serving Him and putting Him
[00:00:30] above everything else in our lives.
[00:00:33] As we pause to analyze our hearts, we must be on the lookout for anything that would open
[00:00:38] the door to sin in our lives.
[00:00:40] As David faced trial after trial, he tried to stay focused on the Lord.
[00:00:46] It's when he lost his focus that he found disaster waiting around the bend.
[00:00:50] By keeping your mind and heart set on God, you can be on the lookout for the very things
[00:00:56] that can trip you up spiritually, emotionally and mentally.
[00:01:01] If you feel bored, lonely, tired or rejected, beware.
[00:01:06] These feelings can betray you and lead you to sin.
[00:01:09] If you slip into laziness and refuse to hear God's truth, you may also be strolling
[00:01:15] down a dangerous path.
[00:01:17] When we choose to be led by our flesh, which is what happens when we allow our feelings
[00:01:22] to tempt us into acting contrary to God's word, we are destined to sin.
[00:01:29] God loves us dearly, and He desires the best for our lives.
[00:01:33] To serve and honor Him at every turn in life, we must follow the voice of the Holy Spirit
[00:01:39] and not our flesh.
[00:01:41] In our desire to live holy and righteous lives, we must determine to rely upon Him for guidance
[00:01:47] and direction.
[00:01:49] When we do, we will avoid potential pitfalls and heartache.
[00:01:54] Let's pray together.
[00:01:55] Lord, allow your Holy Spirit to be the voice of direction for our lives today.
