[00:00:13] Am I living by the power of the Holy Spirit?
[00:00:16] This is one of the most important questions God's children can ask themselves.
[00:00:21] In God's Word, we are given a simple litmus test that demonstrates whether or not we are
[00:00:27] living the Spirit-empowered life, the fruit of the Spirit, a cluster of nine interrelated
[00:00:34] characteristics that can only be produced fully in your life by the Spirit Himself.
[00:00:40] In Galatians 5, 13-26, we see that the flesh and the Spirit are contrary to one another,
[00:00:47] producing results in our lives that are polar opposites.
[00:00:51] The fruit of the Spirit, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
[00:00:58] gentleness, and self-control, stand in stark contrast to the works of the flesh, such as
[00:01:05] sexual immorality, hatred, and jealousy.
[00:01:09] The flesh and its works only produce pain and heartache as they divide friends, spouses,
[00:01:16] and even entire churches.
[00:01:18] The Spirit, on the other hand, is the one who unites, producing only good things in and
[00:01:24] through us as we surrender completely to Christ.
[00:01:29] You cannot produce the fruit of the Spirit in your own power.
[00:01:34] This is the reason why the existence of the fruit of the Spirit in your life is a litmus
[00:01:39] test of the Spirit-empowered life.
[00:01:41] It is impossible for you to fake His working in your life.
[00:01:45] If He is empowering you, He will produce this fruit in you, for He never fails to produce
[00:01:51] fruit in the life that is truly surrendered to Him.
[00:01:55] God is not content for you to exhibit a small amount of the fruit in your life.
[00:02:00] He longs for you to bear much fruit.
[00:02:04] Be encouraged.
[00:02:05] If you are yearning to exhibit the fruit of the Spirit in your life, imagine how much more
[00:02:11] your Heavenly Father desires this for you.
[00:02:14] God has something magnificent in store for you.
[00:02:19] Abide in His unfailing love and obey His voice, and in His timing you will bear much fruit
[00:02:25] and so prove to be His disciple.
[00:02:28] The fruit of the Spirit will surely be displayed in you as you walk with Him, moment by moment.
[00:02:36] Let's pray together.
[00:02:37] Lord, thank You that You want us to bear fruit and You have equipped us to bear fruit.
[00:02:43] May we grow more and more like Christ and be a blessing to others as we submit to You.
[00:02:50] We pray this in the name of Jesus.
