[00:00:08] Adam Fell by Dr. Michael Youssef
[00:00:13] Why does death seem to reign supreme?
[00:00:17] No matter how much we try to escape it or how invincible we may feel, death is inevitable
[00:00:23] for us all.
[00:00:25] In Romans 5-12-14, the apostle Paul shares why.
[00:00:31] It was Adam's sin against God that first activated the power of sin, bringing physical and spiritual
[00:00:37] death upon both himself and all his descendants.
[00:00:41] But don't misunderstand this.
[00:00:43] Paul is not saying that sin and rebellion originated in Adam, for sin and rebellion
[00:00:48] against God began in Satan's mind.
[00:00:52] Satan tempted Adam, but Adam had a choice.
[00:00:56] Should I obey Satan or obey God?
[00:00:59] My friend, you and I face this same question every single day.
[00:01:04] Inside each of us two natures are fighting—the flesh against the spirit and the spirit against
[00:01:11] the flesh.
[00:01:12] And this is even true for those of us who enjoy new life in Christ.
[00:01:17] By obeying Satan, Adam fell, and the poison of the forbidden fruit was death not only for
[00:01:22] Adam but for all his descendants—meaning you, me, and everyone who has ever lived.
[00:01:30] But the Scripture makes it very clear that while we are all born in sin, by nature
[00:01:35] and enmity with God, only the cross of Jesus Christ can rescue us from our sin and
[00:01:41] transform us into the likeness of Christ.
[00:01:44] Adam fell, but Christ arose, and now in Christ the believer wins.
[00:01:52] Where in your life are you being tempted?
[00:01:55] Fight back now by sharing your struggle with a fellow believer.
[00:02:01] Let's pray together.
[00:02:02] Lord, thank You that in Christ we win.
[00:02:06] We know Your Spirit will have the victory in our hearts and bring us closer and
[00:02:10] closer to Christ's likeness.
[00:02:13] We long to be like our Savior.
[00:02:16] May we keep in step with Your Spirit and always give things for the changes that
[00:02:21] You are working in our hearts.
[00:02:24] We pray this in the name of Jesus.
[00:02:26] Amen.
