[00:00:00] You are listening to My Devotional, the daily devotional from Dr. Michael Youssef and Leading

[00:00:06] the Way.

[00:00:08] A Turn for the Better by Dr. Michael Youssef

[00:00:12] God's glory is revealed in the praises of His people. When we lift our voices in praise

[00:00:18] to God, He is honored and we are blessed. However, God's blessings are not always material

[00:00:24] in nature. The richest people are those who have developed an intimate relationship with

[00:00:29] the Savior through personal prayer and praise. Praise was a hallmark of David's life. As

[00:00:36] a young man, he learned to worship God through songs of praise that expressed his deep devotion

[00:00:41] to the Lord. While his brothers may have enjoyed the comforts of home, David was confined to

[00:00:47] tending the family's sheep. But it was there, in lonely pastures, that David wrote his greatest

[00:00:53] songs of praise to the Lord. David wrote in Psalm 139,

[00:00:58] Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the

[00:01:05] heavens, you are there. If I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the

[00:01:12] wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide

[00:01:18] me. Your right hand will hold me fast. Christ knows when we rise in the morning and when we lie

[00:01:26] down to sleep at night. He is the revelation of our Heavenly Father, the one person who knows us

[00:01:32] completely and loves us unconditionally. Perhaps you feel as though you have come to a dead end

[00:01:39] in your career or in a relationship or in your spiritual life. Maybe you think that God has

[00:01:45] forgotten you. Lift up your eyes to the Lord. Praise him. He is your salvation, and you will rise on wings

[00:01:54] like eagles as you reflect on his sufficiency for you. You will experience a turn for the better as

[00:02:02] you praise the Lord and set your faith in him, the faithful one. Let's pray together.

[00:02:07] Heavenly Father, you know us, and yet you love us. We praise you for your mercy and grace. You alone

[00:02:14] are worthy of praise. You are our fortress. We will rest in you all of our days. We pray this in the name

[00:02:23] of Jesus. Amen. If today's devotional encouraged you, we'd love to hear about it. Leave a review and
