In First Samuel chapter 15, verses 22 to 24
The focus is on obedience being better than sacrifice and offerings. And attentiveness being better than the fat of rams.
Rebellion being as the sin of witchcraft. And arrogance being like idolatry. We reject the word of God and we reject God himself. And there is one that will judge people on the last - that is the words Jesus actually spoke to them.

In First Samuel 15:22-24, the prophet Samuel rebukes King Saul for partial obedience. Saul spared the best spoils of war, claiming he intended to offer them as a sacrifice to God. Samuel reveals a foundational spiritual truth: wholehearted obedience to God is always superior to empty, man-made religious rituals.

The Supremacy of Obedience Over Sacrifice
God does not desire outward displays of devotion that attempt to mask inward disobedience. True worship is not about how many offerings we bring or the how extravagant are our gifts.

  • Obedience is Better than Sacrifice: No amount of religious charity, financial offering, or sacrificial service can substitute for doing exactly what God has commanded.

  • Attentiveness is Better than the Fat of Rams: God takes greater delight in a heart that listens intently to His voice and submits to His authority than in the finest ritualistic offerings. When we listen and respond, we acknowledge His rightful place as Lord.
