The State of Throughness
Inspired by The Book of Mysteries by Jonathan Cahn
Today, I want to share a profound reflection inspired by a moment in The Book of Mysteries by Jonathan Cahn—an encounter that invites us to consider the true purpose of our lives.
We found ourselves sitting on the same sandy plane where our teacher had previously drawn symbols and letters in the sand. This time, he drew two symbols—the Alpha and the Omega. I recognized them immediately; they are the symbols of God.
"The Alpha is the first letter of the Greek alphabet," the teacher explained. "God is the Alpha—the beginning of all things, the reason everything exists." Then he drew the Omega, the last letter, and said, "And the Omega is the end of all things—the purpose for which all things exist."
He connected the two symbols with a horizontal line. "This line represents everything else—us included." He paused and asked, "If God is the beginning and the end, then what does that make you?"
I thought for a moment. "It makes me not the beginning and the end."
But the teacher pointed out something crucial: "It's human nature to live as if we are our own Alpha."
He explained, "If you live for yourself, as the reason and motive for everything you do, then you've made yourself your own Alpha—your own beginning." And if the reason for your life is yourself, then your life has no true purpose—it's just a circle, going nowhere.
"But," he continued, "if you live for yourself to serve yourself, with yourself as the goal and the end, then you've become your own Omega—your own conclusion, which leads to no real purpose." That too is just another circle.
Most people, he said, live as their own Alphas and Omegas—self-centered, self-driven, aimless.
So, how then should we live?
The answer was simple yet profound: live as the line that connects the Alpha and the Omega—not as the beginning or the end, but as the middle—the vessel for His purposes.
Your life becomes a conduit for God's love, power, Spirit, and blessing. When you live this way, you discover the true purpose of your existence. You make Him your Alpha—the reason for everything you do—and your Omega—the One for whom you live.
In this state of "throughness," your life flows through Him, from Him, and to Him. You no longer live for yourself but as a vessel through which His divine life is expressed.
This is the state of throughness—a life aligned with God's eternal purpose. When you embrace this, your life is filled with the blessings of the Alpha and the Omega, from the Beginning to the End.
The Mission for Today:
Live in the state of throughness.
Make Jesus your Alpha—the reason for all your actions—and your Omega—the One for whom you live.
Supporting Scripture:
2 Corinthians 4:7* — "But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this surpassing power is from God and not from us."
2 Timothy 2:21 — "Those who cleanse themselves from the latter will be instruments for special purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work."
Revelation 1:8 — *"I am the Alpha and the Omega, says the Lord God, who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty."
The Omega Stone
Remember, the Omega is not just the end; it’s the completion, the fulfillment, and the purpose. When we live in the throughness—in Him—we align ourselves with the divine plan, and our lives become part of the eternal story.
Blessings in Christ,
Let today be a day to step into the state of throughness. Make Him your beginning and your end, and experience the fullness of His purpose for your life.
