The Receiving
Inspired by the Mysteries of Jonathan Cahn

In the early days of my time in the desert, I experienced a moment that changed everything—one of the most important truths I learned that year, and one I believe everyone needs to understand. I share it here, not as a formula, but as a guide—a prayer from the heart, a decision, a new beginning.

It all started on a mountain top, after the teacher had shared with me one of the great mysteries. He looked at me and said:
"It’s one thing to learn about the mysteries. But it’s another to take part in them."

I didn’t understand at first.
"What do you mean?" I asked.

"There’s a difference," he explained, "between knowing about God and truly knowing God. Hearing the truth and receiving it."
He paused, gazing into the distance.
"The mysteries cannot merely be learned. They must be partaken of. They must be received."

"How do you receive and partake of the mysteries?" I asked.

"By receiving Him who is behind the mysteries," he said. "The One behind all mysteries—the truth itself."
"And the truth cannot just be perceived with your mind. It must be received with your heart."

He then looked at me with gentle seriousness:
"The truth is like a bridegroom. It cannot just be known of; it must be received."
"How do you receive the truth?"

"As a bride receives her bridegroom," he answered.
"You receive Him as it is written:
’As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God.’" (John 1:12)

"Born again?" I asked.

"Yes," he replied. "That’s where it all begins. It’s the only way into eternal life—by being born of heaven."

"How do I do that?" I pressed.

"It’s not about a formula or a prayer you memorize," he said. "It’s about the prayer of the heart. It’s about the bride saying ‘yes’ to the bridegroom, and she becomes his—and he becomes hers.
All your burdens, sins, and past become His. And His salvation, His blessings—become yours."

In that moment, I prayed—from my heart, honestly, simply, and fully.
And everything changed.

Soon after, I wrote down that prayer—the prayer I offered that day, as best I could remember it.
And I share it now, not as a formula, but as a guide for you—a prayer from the heart, for anyone seeking salvation, longing for new life, or desiring to truly receive Him.

A Prayer for Receiving Him

Lord God, I come to You now, and I open my heart to You.
Thank You for loving me—
Thank You for giving Your life, dying for my sins, rising again, and overcoming death—
That I could be forgiven and have eternal life.

Forgive me of my sins.
Wash me, cleanse me, make me new.
I turn away from my sins and turn to You.
From this moment, I make You the Lord of every part of my life.
I place my faith in You and commit my life into Your hands.
I will follow You as Your disciple and go where You lead.

I receive Your love, Your forgiveness, Your cleansing, Your salvation, Your presence, Your power, and Your Spirit.
Come into my heart and life.
You are my God, and I am Your disciple.
You are mine, and I am Yours.

By Your word and this prayer, I declare—
"I am received. I am forgiven. I am new. I am blessed. I am free."
I am born again. I am saved. I have eternal life.

Lead me on, Lord, as I follow You from this moment onward, through all my days.
Thank You, Lord.
In the mighty name of Jesus, the Messiah, Yeshua, the Light of the World, the hope of Israel, my Redeemer, and my Salvation—
Amen.

To those who pray this prayer:
The old has passed away, and the new has come. Walk in the power of that newness. Follow the Teacher to higher heights. Seek deeper truths. Continue the journey—because the mysteries of God are endless, and there is always more to discover.
