The holy words of God Book 30 - The Rapture

The Meaning: Long before events happen, God has already foreseen and ordained them. He proves His supreme deity by accurately revealing the future through His prophets.

The Concept: Divine Sovereignty. God doesn't just know the future; He actively directs and controls the grand arc of history.
The Meaning: The Hebrew word for "counsel" signifies a firm plan or purpose. Despite the chaos of human history, natural disasters, or the rebellion of nations, God's ultimate plan will never be thwarted.
Historical Context: Why It Was Written
In its original historical context, this passage from the Book of Isaiah was a message of comfort and a reality check for the Israelites. The people of Israel were facing impending exile in Babylon, surrounded by polytheistic people who worshipped idols.
God uses this verse to contrast Himself with dead idols. Idols can neither speak, nor predict the future, nor save their worshippers. The Lord, however, reminds the Israelites of His supreme track record and power. He assures them that their exile is not a sign that He has lost control; rather, it is part of His unfolding plan for their ultimate redemption.
