The Chaldean Secret of World History: The Power of God's Promise to Israel
Inspired by ‘The Book of Mysteries’ by Jonathan Cahn

One clear night, as I gazed at the vast, twinkling sky, I found myself pondering a profound question: what does the history of nations reveal about God's promises? Specifically, I thought of the Abrahamic covenant and its relevance to the rise and fall of superpowers—particularly Russia and the Soviet Union.

Historically, Russia’s treatment of the Jewish people was marked by intense persecution. In the late 19th century, under the Tsarist regime, pogroms—violent riots—aimed to drive Jews out or murder them. Yet, as the covenant in Genesis 12:3 declares, “I will bless those who bless you, and curse those who curse you.” Interestingly, Russia’s violent actions against Jews seemed to trigger its own downfall. The Tsarist regime was overthrown, and the Soviet Union emerged—a superpower that oppressed Jews internally, even as it militarily defeated Hitler during WWII, delivering a blow to the enemies of the Jewish people.

This paradox aligns with Deuteronomy 7:9: “Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.” The Soviet Union’s blessing in military strength contrasted sharply with its domestic curse—oppression of Jews—highlighting how God's covenant operates beyond human understanding.

Then, in the late 1980s, a remarkable shift occurred. The Soviet Union lifted its oppression of Jews, granting freedom to leave, paralleling Russia and Eastern Europe’s liberation from communism. This sequence of events underscores the truth of Jeremiah 16:15: “I will restore them to the land I gave their ancestors.” God’s promises are unbreakable, and His word is stronger than empires and superpowers.

This story reveals a secret of world history: the divine principle that God's covenant with Israel shapes nations’ destinies. It’s a reminder that behind the rise and fall of nations lies a divine plan—one rooted in the ancient promises made to Abraham.

The Mission:
Ponder this truth—the Word of God is more powerful than any superpower or worldly empire. Today, live accordingly. Stand firm on His promises, and use that divine power for victory in your life.

Scriptures to Reflect On:
Genesis 12:3 — “I will bless those who bless you...”
Deuteronomy 7:9 — “The Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God...”
Jeremiah 16:15 — “I will restore them to the land I gave their ancestors.”

The God of that tent dweller—Abraham—is faithful. His promises are eternal, and His Word remains the ultimate authority over all powers in heaven and earth.
