I am trying to explain Matthew 6:19 to 21 re
“Love of money v Love of God”
Matthew 6:19–21 tells people not to store up treasures on earth where things spoil or thieves break in, but to store up treasures in heaven instead. Jesus explains that where a person's treasure is, their heart will also be there. This passage teaches people to focus on eternal things rather than temporary wealth.
Meaning of Earthly Treasures
Temporary value: Wealth, status, and physical items fade away or break.
Insecure security: Rust destroys, moths eat clothes, and thieves steal earthly goods.
Misplaced focus: Chasing money makes people worry and binds their souls to the physical world.
Meaning of Heavenly Treasures
Eternal value: Good deeds, love, faith, and kindness last forever.
True security: Things stored in heaven are safe from loss or damage.
Spiritual richness: Investing in God brings lasting peace and joy.
The Heart Connection
The center of life: Your heart follows whatever you value most.
The inner choice: If you love money, your life serves money. If you love God, your life serves God.
