The Bible supports the principle that extreme or radical actions are sometimes necessary to deal with grave issues, particularly regarding sin, spiritual disobedience, or essential faith matters. While it does not encourage impulsive "desperate" actions driven by fear, it does endorse purposeful, drastic measures to eliminate spiritual harm and uphold holiness.

Here is what the Bible says about extreme remedies for extreme situations:
Radical Action Against Sin (The "Cut it Off" Principle)
Jesus used hyperbole—extreme language—to illustrate that sin is so deadly it must be treated with immediate, decisive action.
Matthew 5:29-30, 18:8-9: Jesus teaches that if your right eye or hand causes you to stumble, you should gouge it out or cut it off. This is a metaphorical, yet severe, call to remove things from your life that cause you to sin, suggesting it is better to lose a physical limb than to have your whole body lost in hell.
Application: Christians are urged to take aggressive, drastic measures to avoid temptation or break free from habitual sin, such as destroying addictive material or changing lifestyle habits that enable temptation.
Cut it off at the root before it can take root! Even from the seed!!!
